Gooood Parent is a parenting brand who supports people in all stages of their parenting journey. The brand has a dedicated website that works as a depository for general knowledge. There is also a dedicated mobile app that can curate content for a specific user.

The problem: Soon-to-be and new parents lack time to Search for reliable parenting information that is digestible, easy to find and can be filtered specifically to their needs.

The way we’re solving the problem is to create a personalized app and responsive website to help people research parenting information based on their needs and stage.

Understanding the user

I conducted user interviews by sending questions over email to better understand them and their needs. The findings weren’t surprising: users want an app that can be specific to their needs and a website that is easy to navigate.

Starting the design

From research findings, I began the app design by iterating ideas for a sign up process and homepage, then moved to paper wireframes. The goal was to create one user flow, so I started from the signup process to reading a single article, adding the necessary steps in between.

After paper wireframes were drawn and a user flow established, it was time to
move to creating digital wireframes using Figma.

Low fidelity prototyping and testing
moving to high fidelity work

Three people participated in an unmoderated usability study where they responded to a set of questions. I developed insights from the answers given like the user flow to find an article was very easy for all users to follow.

After understanding the information gained from the usability study, I could move from low fidelity prototyping to high fidelity mockups and prototyping.

The Gooood Parent app and responsive website saves new parents time by sensibly organizing information or giving them the opportunity to have content catered specific to their needs.
